| Today in Kid's Village, while Michelle was teaching, I had a thought. She was talking about how Jesus was born in a manger...which is what animals eat out of. Although I already know this, I started to wonder if maybe there's some sort of correlation there. Now, I may be reaching, but I was wondering if it's significant that Jesus was born into something that animals eat out of. We are so often not much unlike animals ourselves. Not that I'm saying I believe we came from monkeys or anything, but even in the Bible we are compared to different types of animals (sheep, dogs, horses, oxen, donkeys, serpents, birds, etc.). Like animals, we are dependent on things outside of ourselves to live, we are content with the scraps from the table, we aren't very smart...
Jesus Christ is the Bread of Life, our sustenance, our means of living. Without Him is there life? Nope, there's death. If animals don't eat do they live? Nope, they die.
Elementary maybe, but this is how I learn in Kid's Village. And y'all just thought I went there to play with kids and teach them about Jesus...suckers. |
